About this appellation

Clos Vougeot

Clos de Vougeot is one of the most famous grands crus of the Côte de Nuits: a walled vineyard (“clos”) of some fifty hectares, planted by Cistercian monks in the Middle Ages around the Château du Clos de Vougeot. It produces red wines from Pinot Noir. The label reproduced here is that of the house of Louis Jadot. Discover all our appellations.

At the top of the Louis Jadot label, a head of Bacchus crowned with grapes, framed by the words “Fondée en 1859” (founded in 1859), towers over the large capital letters of “Clos Vougeot – Grand Cru.”
