About this appellation

Beaune Clos des Mouches

Clos des Mouches is a premier cru climat (named vineyard site) of the Beaune appellation, on the slopes overlooking the town. It yields both red and white wines, and its name is closely associated with the Beaune house of Joseph Drouhin, whose label is reproduced here. Discover all our appellations.

Look closely: little bees are drawn around the red Gothic letters of “Clos des Mouches,” a nod to the “mouches à miel” (honeybees) of the old beehives that gave this climat its name.
