About this appellation
Clos Vougeot
Clos de Vougeot is one of the most famous grands crus of the Côte de Nuits: a walled vineyard (“clos”) of some fifty hectares, planted by Cistercian monks in the Middle Ages. It is shared among many owners, including Château de la Tour, whose label adorns this clock. Discover all our appellations.
The dial reproduces a “mise au château” (château-bottled) label from J. Labet & N. Déchelette, owners in the Clos de Vougeot, with a drawing of Château de la Tour; the hours are marked in Roman numerals.
